The VSL Compact 81 in-vehicle PC offers the greatest reliability for sophisticated applications in vehicles and mobile systems. It is suitable as a data logger, control computer, data capturing unit or vehicle-to-infrastructure communication system. Its wireless design, robust, closed casing and the screw-in connector plugs ensure functional reliability.
All components are designed for use in a temperature range from –40 °C to +85°C, making the computer suitable for outdoor use.
The in-vehicle PC is the ideal embedded solution for future IoT applications thanks to its integrated wireless expansion systems: LTE, GPS and Wi-Fi. In addition, it is equipped with an ignition controller, a motion sensor, a dead reckoning function and a disturbance-free CAN interface. It can be retrofitted into vehicles effortlessly.
The industrial quad-core processors from the ApolloLake series by Intel (x5-E3940 and x7-3950, respectively) ensure high performance at a low power consumption.
The in-vehicle computers are available for the long term (fixed BOM for at least ten years from the release date) and can be ordered with an E-mark certificate.
